Directions (11-15): Study the graph and answer the following questions.
Power Supply Position in India (in billion KWH)

Q11. What was the percentage increase in supply of power between 1980-81 and 1984-85?
(a) 56%
(b) 145%
(c) 43%
(d) 85%
(e) None of these

Q12. The cumulative shortfall between requirement and supply from 1980 to the end of 1985 was (in billion)
(a) 56
(b) 85
(c) 45
(d) 76
(e) None of these

Q13. The requirement of power in 1984-85 was how many times the availability of supply in 1978-79?
(a) 2.6
(b) 1.75
(c) 2.75
(d) 2.0
(e) None of these

Q14. The percentage of growth in power requirement from 1979-80 to 1984-85 was less than the percentage of growth in power requirement from 1974-75 to 1979-80 by what figure?
(a) 3
(b) 4
(c) 15
(d) 7
(e) None of these

Q15. Between 1979-80 and 1983-84, the power generation has generally logged behind power demand by how many years?
(a) 1
(b) 2
(c) 3
(d) 4
(e) None of these
S2. Ans.(a)
Sol. Cost of 10 books = Rs.(120 + 150) = Rs. 270
Average cost = Rs. 270/10 = Rs. 27

S3. Ans.(d)
Sol. Total actual weight = (89.4 × 20 - 78 + 87) kg
= 1797 kg.
∴ Correct average weight =1797/20 = 89.85 kg

S4. Ans.(d)
Sol. 2400 × 12 : x × 6 : y × 3 = 4 : 5 : 3
Now 2400 × 12 = 4 in ratio
So 7200 is 1 in ratio
So, (x × 6)/5=7200
x = 6000
So C share is 7200
(y × 3)/3=7200
y = 7200

S5. Ans.(a)
Sol. Rate of rent divide between them in the ratio of 4 : 8 : 12. So Rahul share is 8/24×9000=3000

S6. Ans.(a)
Sol. We can find only from I

S7. Ans.(d)
Sol. We can’t find answer even I and II together

S8. Ans.(e)
Sol. Both I and II required

S9. Ans.(b)
Sol. We can find only with 2nd

S10. Ans.(d)
Sol. We cannot find even with equation I and II
S11. Ans.(c)
Sol. In 1980-81 is 105 while in 84-85 is 151.
So percentage increases is ((151-105)/105)×100=(46/105)×100=43%

S12. Ans.(d)
Sol. Total requirement = 120 + 129 + 137 + 145 + 170 = 701
Total supply = 105 + 115 + 124 + 130 + 151 = 625
Difference = 701 - 625 = 76

S13. Ans.(b)
Sol. 170 = 97 × x
So, x=170/97=1.75

S14. Ans.(d)
Sol. % Growth =(170-118)/118×100=44%
In 1974-75 to 1979-80 growth =(118-78)/78=40/78×100=51%
So, more = 51 - 44 = 7%

S15. Ans.(c)
Sol. In 1979-80 demand was 118 which completed in 82-83 means 3 years.
